Designer Footwear
Frequently Asked Questions
What footwear is in the collection?
The collection includes men's hiking boots, trail-running sneakers, approach shoes and outdoor-built low-tops from ROA, Salomon, Nike ACG, Oakley and Arc'teryx. Each listing identifies the exact model, intended use, outsole and weather protection when those details can be confirmed.
What do you look for when buying technical footwear?
The construction has to support the design. We look at the outsole compound, lug pattern, upper, reinforcement, closure system and intended terrain. We carry genuine outdoor models and credible hybrid footwear that retains functional construction. We pass on sneakers that borrow the appearance of trail gear without offering anything beneath it.
Was every pair designed exclusively for the trail?
No. Salomon trail runners and Arc'teryx hiking shoes are directly designed around outdoor performance. Nike ACG also produces hiking and trail-specific footwear. ROA intentionally works between mountain and urban settings, while some Oakley models combine functional boot construction with a stronger lifestyle position. The listing explains where each pair sits rather than assigning one purpose to every brand.
What is the difference between hiking boots and trail sneakers?
Hiking boots generally provide more ankle coverage, structure and protection. The collection ranges from lightweight mid-height boots to substantial leather hikers. Trail sneakers are lower, lighter and designed for more flexible movement. Approach shoes sit between the two, combining the mobility of a low-top with reinforcement and traction intended for rocky terrain.
Do you carry ROA hiking boots?
Yes, when we find the right model, size and condition. ROA Andreas, Katharina, Neal and other footwear models are listed by their complete names. Construction varies between models, so the listing identifies the upper material, outsole and waterproof treatment rather than applying the same features to every ROA pair.
Do all the shoes have Vibram soles?
No. Vibram outsoles appear on specific ROA and Arc'teryx models, but they are not universal. Salomon frequently uses its own Contagrip compounds. Nike ACG and Oakley use different proprietary or third-party outsoles depending on the model. Each listing names the outsole when it can be confirmed and includes clear photographs of the tread.
Are the hiking boots and trail sneakers waterproof?
It depends on the model. GORE-TEX, sealed membranes and other waterproof constructions are identified in the listing when present. Water-resistant uppers offer more limited protection, and an aggressive outsole does not make a shoe waterproof. If the manufacturer does not support a waterproof claim, we do not add one.
How does sizing work across ROA, Salomon and Nike?
Sizing varies by brand, model, last and whether the pair is men's, women's or unisex. There is no reliable rule that every ROA or Salomon fits smaller or larger than Nike. Each listing includes the tagged US, UK or EU size and the removable insole length when it can be measured accurately. Compare that measurement with the removable insole from a similar shoe you already wear, not directly with the length of your foot.
Are these shoes authentic?
Every pair is evaluated through its size label, product code, construction, materials, hardware, outsole and branding. When an original box is present, its label is checked against the shoes. A box supports authentication but does not establish it alone. We do not knowingly sell reproductions.
Do the shoes include the original box?
Each listing states whether the original box, alternate laces, dust bags or other accessories are included. Any packaging damage is photographed when it affects the condition of a new or collectible pair.
Why is the footwear below retail?
These are current and recent-season pairs entering the secondary market rather than the traditional retail cycle. Every pair in this collection is priced below its verified original retail price. The final price reflects the model, size, condition, included packaging and availability.
What condition should I expect?
Every listing identifies the pair as New with Box, New without Box, Excellent or another clearly defined condition. The outsoles are photographed so tread wear and heel drag remain visible. We also inspect the uppers, midsoles, linings, insoles, closures and points of separation. Previous wear or damage that could affect performance is disclosed clearly.
Can I return designer footwear?
Eligible designer footwear may be returned within seven days if it remains unworn and in the condition in which it arrived. Any original box, tags and included accessories must be returned with the pair. Review the measurements, condition and intended use before purchasing. The right size matters, but so does finding the right shoe for where you intend to take it.
